Vegemite roll ups and scrolls

Ingredients for this cheese and vegemite roll ups recipe (makes 4 serves)

One tablespoon of Vegemite - yum everyone loves Vegemite

Eight slices of bread - white or wholemeal, with the crusts removed

1and 1/2 cups of grated tasty cheese

30 grams of butter that has been softened

 


Cooking or Preparation Instructions for Cheese and Vegemite rollups

Preheat your sandwich press. Using a rolling pin, roll the bread flat. Spread one side of bread lightly with butter or your preferred spread.

 

Turn the bread slices over and spread the other side with the Vegemite. Sprinkle this side with cheese

 

Roll up each bread slice like a Swiss roll, enclosing the cheese filling. Then place the rolled-up bread slices on base of your sandwich press. Close the sandwich press lid and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until the cheese and vegemite roll ups are crisp and golden.

Cheese fillings can stay very hot for a surprising time. Its probably a good idea if serving to children to have a cold drink handy for each child or party guest.
