Ingredients for this coffee cake with chocolate chips recipe (approx 10 slices)
300 grams of sugar
Five mls of vanilla extract
250 grams of flour
225 grams of butter or margarine. This will be softened later
Five grams of baking powder
Two grams of baking soda
224 grams of cream cheese, softened later.
Two grams of salt
Two grams of ground cinnamon
60 mls of whole milk
170 rams of chocolate chips
Two whole eggs
30 grams of chopped pecans
Cooking or Preparation Instructions for Coffee Cake
First, preheat your oven to approx 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Then, in a medium mixing bowl, cream the butter together with the cream cheese and 1-1/4 cups of sugar. Beat in both eggs and the vanilla essence
Now combine the flour, the baking powder, the baking soda and the salt; add to the previous creamed mixture and stir in the milk. Stir in the chocolate chips. Pour the coffee cake mixture into a greased pan approx 20 cm diameter. Combine the pecans, cinnamon and remaining sugar to your fresh coffee cake ingredients and sprinkle over batter.
Bake at 350 degrees F for 50 to 55 minutes or until you can insert a toothpick near the center and it comes out clean. Cool the coffee cake with chocolate chips for around 15 minutes before removing from the pan. Carefully run a knife around the edge of the pan to loosen the coffee cake. Remove the sides of the pan. Cool the fresh homemade coffee cake completely before cutting it up and serving.
